attention to waist..and blogging at 6am

Early bird catches the worm!
I am sat with a very large cup of tea, blogging at 6am. That's dedication folks!
I just finished going over the Fall 2011 Rodarte RTW collection.

Man alive I love Rodarte. The show starts with a palette of creams, so fresh and
clean, very little house on the praire. The silhouettes concentrate very heavily
on the waist, with a lot of garments giving attention to the waist, through
panels and tailoring. A very feminine shape especially with the length of the garments,
long dresses/skirts - giving a very 50's silhouette.

I love the fusion of different fabrics and textures. I also LOVE all the collar details!!
Collars are exaggerated and brought up the neck with an open chest, and also repeated down garments, as an embellished non functional feature. I love this!!

The colour hues are very feminine and almost dreamlike. Floaty fabrics and soft structure to the garments, not to mention the prints of blue skies with cornfields at the hem.

Amongst the fairyesque woman of nature, there is also a modern mathematical woman.
Geometric shapes are featured a lot through the collection, through panels, intricate pattern cutting and embellishment. It has such a 'Craft' quality through its textile delivery,
instead of what could have just as easily been done in print.

I am loving this collection. Especially the red garments towards the end.

Sara's Summary:

Cream
Lace
Geometric shapes
Exaggerated Collars
Cinched waists
Soft tailoring
Textiles/Crafting

(I will be doing Sara's summaries now for all my collection reviews.
Maybe a bit silly but I like it :) )

Anyway, Its half 6 and I have so much to do today so better get started.
Had a sort of epiphany recently...will reveal more soon.
Might have actually made a huge life decision!

Good Morning to you all. Enjoy your Thursday xxxx
